Bamboo is a grass not a wood. 16% harder than Maple, making it very hygienic. Bamboo is a renewable resource. Easy to care for wash with a mild detergent in warm water, and give an occasional wipe with a food grade mineral oil. Not safe for dishwasher, microwave, or oven.
