The slot is 1/4" thick and 3/8" deep. The solid wood has been sanded smooth and finished with linseed oil. The picture is representative - your holder will vary slightly from the pictures. The print won't fade or change color over the year (just keep away from direct sunlight). Prints ship in a poly sleeve with cardboard backing in a padded envelope to ensure a crumpled mess won't shop up at your door. All of our prints make come with a lifetime warranty.
